1. Introduction
At Electronic Devices Limited, we are committed to operating a strict privacy policy which enables our employees and customers to opt-in to receiving information from us and to select the way they receive this information – whether it be by email, post or phone.
This document explains when and why we collect personal information and how we endeavour to repay the trust placed on us, in sharing your personal data with us. It applies to you if you’re a visitor, applicant, employee, product supplier, customer or if you visit our website, email, call or write to us.
Our privacy policy operates in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Any future changes to our privacy policy will appear on this page.

2. What information do we collect?

- Feedback from you about our sites and our products and services generally
You are not required to provide any of this information, but if you do not, we may not be able to provide you the requested service or complete your transaction.
We also collect certain standard information that your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and capabilities and language, your operating system, the date and time you access the site and the website from which you linked to our website. We do not combine this standard information with other personal information.

We use your personal information to deliver services or carry out transactions you have requested, including, but not limited to, providing information on Electronic Devices Ltd products or services, registering purchasedproducts, processing product orders, handling warranty claims, replacing product manuals, answering customer service requests and facilitating the use of our site.

Children’s data
Electronic Devices Ltd does not knowingly collect information from children and does not target or direct its site to children. We do not market our products to children.
Use of cookies
Cookies are small pieces of text information sent to your browser when visiting a website. We may use cookies to store information about your visit and enhance the functionality of your visit, no personal information or information that could be used to identify individuals are held in these cookies.
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
We use CCTV equipment to provide a safer, more secure environment for staff and to prevent vandalism and theft. It is used for:
Monitoring the security of our premises.
Access to the CCTV recorded footage is limited to designated staff and other authorised personnel (including police) with a legitimate reason to view and/or otherwise use the captured footage, including the provision of evidence in support of prosecution of criminal or illegal behaviour.
As the recording system records digital images, any CCTV images that are held on the hard drive of a PC are deleted and overwritten on a recycling basis. However, where a law enforcement agency is investigating a crime or information is required for an insurance claim, images may need to be retained for a longer period.
4. Security of your personal Information
Electronic Devices Ltd is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer systems with limited access that are located in facilities to which access is limited.
We will only use and store your data for as long as it is required and for the purposes it was collected. The period of retention depends on the information being held, what it is being used for and in some cases, legal requirements (for example product traceability which we are legally required to keep for 10 years). When we no longer need to store your data we will always dispose of it securely.

Disclosing information to THIRD parties?
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to other companies.
We do not disclose personal data to any third parties or external organisations, unless we are legally and/or contractually required to do so, e.g. Pension Companies, by a law enforcement agency legitimately exercising a power or if compelled by an order of the Court.
Links to third party websites
Pages on the Electronic Devices website include links to third party websites that we believe might be of interest to our website visitors. This privacy policy only governs our company and website and we are not responsible for the privacy policies that govern third party websites even where we have provided links to them. If you use any link on our website we recommend you read the privacy policy of that website before sharing any personal or financial data.
5. Reviewing your personal information
You can ask us if we are keeping any personal data about you and you can also request to receive a copy of that personal data – this is called a Subject Access Request.
To make a Subject Access Request you will need to provide adequate proof of identity such as a copy of your passport, birth certificate or driving licence before your request can be processed. Please try to be as clear as possible about the information you require including where the data is likely to be held and the date range of the information you wish to access.
Once we have received your Subject Access Request, and proof of identity, you will receive a response from us within 30 days and you will be able to get copies of any information we hold on you.

6. Changes to this privacy statement
Electronic Devices Ltd may occasionally update this privacy statement. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top and bottom of the privacy statement. If we make any material changes in the way we collect, use and/or share personal information that we collect about you, we will notify you by sending you an email at the last email address that you provided us and/or by prominently posting notice of the changes on the website.
